For Rancho Cordova City Council District 5
As a principal, small business owner, and community advocate, I see every day how important it is to build a city that supports everyone - our families, children, workers, seniors, veterans, and local businesses.
Rancho Cordova deserves safe neighborhoods, stronger community spaces, support for small businesses, and real solutions that address the root causes of the challenges we face. Together, we can build a stronger future for Rancho Cordova.
Today, Lilia is a small business owner, Principal, and community advocate. She opened Heritage Elementary School in Carmichael because she saw a need for a more personal, supportive, and nurturing school environment where children could feel seen, encouraged, and cared for. Her work with children and families has only strengthened her belief that strong communities begin with strong support systems.
For the past few years, Lilia has served as President of the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief, Sacramento Chapter, where she has helped bring people together to support children and families in need. She has also volunteered at the VA in Rancho Cordova for over a year, an experience that deepened her respect and appreciation for the veteran community.
Lilia’s connection to Rancho Cordova is personal and wide-reaching. Working alongside her family taught her the value of dedication, sacrifice, customer service, and what it truly means to be a small business owner. Along with her work in education and nonprofit service, she has also been part of a family business in the salvage yard industry, with roots in Rancho Cordova going back over 25 years. That experience has given her a real understanding of the working families, small business owners, and industrial businesses that help make Rancho Cordova unique.
Lilia has always had a heart for service and a strong belief in community. Her work with children, families, veterans, and local businesses reflects her passion for bringing people together. At the same time, her background in the salvage yard industry has taught her that real leadership is not just about words — it is about hard work, grit, and being willing to roll up your sleeves.
Lilia believes Rancho Cordova deserves leadership that listens, understands, and truly cares. Her goal is to help create a safer, cleaner, and more connected city by supporting small businesses, improving public spaces, and helping make areas around light rail stations safer for families, children, and the community as a whole.
When it comes to homelessness, Lilia believes the conversation must go deeper than temporary fixes. Her approach focuses on addressing the root causes, including drug addiction, mental health challenges, and poverty, while also keeping public spaces safe and accessible for residents, families, and businesses.
